The Nalut University organized today, Monday, June 29, in collaboration with the Center for Scientific Research and Consultations and the Faculty of Law, the activities of the scientific seminar titled "The Drug Epidemic in Libya: A Scientific Reading of the Causes, Consequences, and Prevention Methods," held in the auditorium of the Faculty of Law.
The seminar witnessed active academic attendance and included two scientific sessions during which a number of specialized research papers were presented and discussed:
In the first scientific session:
- Dr. Nagy Al-Hadi Aburas delivered a lecture titled: "The Drug Epidemic Between Biological Impact and Psychological and Social Collapse."
- Ms. Amina Issa Al-Jarbi delivered a lecture titled: "Drug Addiction and Its Psychological Impact on the Family."
- Dr. Elias Abubakr Al-Baroni delivered a lecture titled: "The Cost of Drug Addiction on the Libyan National Economy: Its Impact on Productivity and the Labor Market."
- Dr. Eissa Al-Shaibani delivered a lecture titled: "Combating Smoking and Drugs: From Awareness to Recovery... Practical Experiences and Sustainable Solutions."
In the second scientific session:
- Dr. Abubakr Ahtiyosh delivered a lecture titled: "Legal and Procedural Guarantees in Addressing Drug and Psychoactive Substance Crimes."
- Mr. Omar Al-Mahrouq delivered a lecture titled: "Requirements for Legislative Update in the Libyan Drug Law and Its Position Among Similar Legislations of Neighboring Countries."
- These sessions were punctuated by fruitful discussions at the end of each, allowing participants to exchange insights and ideas on sustainable solutions to address this phenomenon.
At the conclusion of the seminar activities, the Center for Scientific Research and Consulting and Training distributed certificates of appreciation to the esteemed session chairs and speakers, in recognition of their valuable scientific efforts and active participation in enriching this academic event. The center also expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the organization and success of this seminar.
This will be followed by the publication of the scientific recommendations and the results concluded from the seminar in a special publication later on our official page, to disseminate the benefits and convey the scientific messages to the community and relevant authorities.
