Preparation has begun for the first international conference on engineering project management, with the participation of the College of Engineering Project Management, the Libyan Academy, and the universities of Nalut and Tripoli.

In the context of enhancing its leading role in supporting scientific research and building a sustainable knowledge economy, Nalut University participated on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in the preparatory meeting for the launch of the first international conference on engineering project management.
This event is organized jointly and in strategic partnership between the Libyan Academy, the College of Engineering Project Management, Nalut University, and the University of Tripoli.
The conference is held under the slogan: "An Integrated Vision for Sustainable Development and Reconstruction in the Oil, Gas, Construction, and Services Sectors."
The conference aims to create a scientific platform that brings together a select group of experts and researchers to discuss current challenges and provide innovative solutions in the management of large projects, in line with the requirements of the reconstruction phase in Libya.
The preparatory meeting witnessed a prominent presence of academic leaders and organizing committees, led by:
Dr. Ramadan Al-Hadi Al-Madani, President of the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies.
Dr. Mohamed Masoud Qnan, President of Nalut University.
• Mr. Mohamed Farid Jernaz, Vice President of the University for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Chairman of the Conference Preparatory Committee.
Dr. Ramadan Al-Shams Wadi, Dean of the School of Applied Sciences and Engineering at the Academy.
Dr. Mohammed Qasim Al-Zughbi, Dean of the College of Engineering Project Management and Chairman of the Conference.
Dr. Abdul Razak Abdul Majid bin Jabir, Chairman of the Scientific Committee for the Conference.
Mr. Zakaria Issa Al-Bajahi, President of Al-Bawsala Foundation for Sustainable Development.
The participants emphasized that this conference represents the fruit of serious collaboration between Libyan academic institutions, aiming to develop national capacities and bridge the gap between the academic side and professional needs in the energy and construction sectors. It also reflects the commitment of the academy and participating universities to support initiatives that serve sustainable development efforts.
The conference activities are scheduled to take place in the capital, Tripoli, including research sessions and specialized workshops, on September 26 and 27, with expectations of wide participation from engineers, academics, and decision-makers in the engineering and service sectors.
