The launch of the scientific seminar on food control mechanisms at Nalut University
In the presence of academic and regulatory attendees, the activities of the specialized scientific seminar kicked off this morning, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the auditorium of the College of Medical Technology in Nalut, under the slogan: "Safe Food.. Sustainable Health.. Informed Consumer."
The inauguration was honored by the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Masoud Qnan, the Secretary-General of the University, Mr. Mohamed Farid Jernaz, the Director of the Research and Scientific Consulting Center at the University, Dr. Naji Al-Hadi Abouras, and the General Secretary of the Employees, Mr. Moussa Salem Yaqub, along with a selection of experts, faculty members, several deans of colleges, department heads, and those interested in food safety and consumer protection.
The seminar will review, throughout its scientific sessions, the mechanisms of food control and inspection, discuss health risks, and the role of scientific research in ensuring the quality of traded products, with wide participation from major universities, research centers, and regulatory organizations in Libya.
The closing of the seminar will witness the announcement of the anticipated results of the "Best Olive Oil in the Region" competition, following the examination and verification of 112 samples received by the scientific committee's laboratories from various cities and villages.
