Nalut University participates in the launch of the seventh national report on human development in Tripoli
As part of the academic and national role that Nalut University plays in serving the community and enhancing strategic partnerships, Dr. Elias Abubakr Al-Barouni (Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environment, and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science) participated in the official celebration for the launch and adoption of the executive summary of the seventh national report on human development 2025.
The event held in the capital, Tripoli, on Monday, June 8, 2026, was organized by the General Authority for Information in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and attended by high-level government and international officials.
The highlights of Dr. Elias Al-Barouni's speech during the celebration:
• Reference Document: It was confirmed that the report serves as a scientific reference that supports decision-making and the formulation of public policies based on evidence and accurate data.
• Praise for National Expertise: He valued the pivotal role of academics, researchers, and experts who adhered to the highest scientific standards in preparing the report.
• Call for a Strategic Partnership: A call was made to enhance cooperation between Nalut University, the General Authority for Information, and (UNDP) through the signing of a joint cooperation agreement to support scientific research, knowledge exchange, and capacity building in strategic planning and sustainable development.
• The Role of Universities: He emphasized that Libyan universities possess the qualified competencies to be a key partner in shaping the country's future development plans.
This participation comes to affirm the active presence of Nalut University in national initiatives, embodying its mission to connect scientific research with community issues and decision-making to build the future of Libya.
