Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher
Education (CBHE) 2026
titled:
SAHARA Nexus
Strengthening Higher Education Capacities for the Water–Energy–Food Nexus in Saharan Regions
This ambitious project is coordinated by Dr. Yassine Ben Salem from the University of Gabes (Tunisia), and it brings together an international coalition of prestigious universities and research institutions from Europe and North Africa.
The SAHARA Nexus project aims to enhance the capabilities of higher education institutions in the field of the water-energy-food nexus, through:

Capacity building: Updating teaching methods and enhancing the skills of faculty members, researchers, and students.
Enhancing cooperation, joint scientific research, and the exchange of experiences.
Sustainable solutions: Providing innovative solutions to address environmental, economic, and social challenges in desert areas.
In this context, Nalut University will play an active role in implementing various project activities, which will support the academic and research infrastructure and strengthen the frameworks for regional and international cooperation.
