Discussion of a doctoral thesis at the School of Strategic and International Studies on "Preventive Diplomacy and United Nations Practices"

In the context of supporting scientific research and enhancing specialized studies in international and strategic issues, the School of Strategic and International Studies at the Libyan Academy approved the doctoral thesis submitted by researcher Mohiuddin Safi Sadoun, from the Department of Diplomatic Studies, titled: "Preventive Diplomacy in Light of the Practices of the United Nations Aimed at Maintaining International Peace and Security: A Descriptive Analytical Study (2014 – 2024)."

The study analyzed the role of preventive diplomacy as one of the most important tools used by the United Nations to mitigate conflicts, reviewing the key practices and international efforts made to promote international peace and security during the specified period.

The discussion and judging committee was formed from the esteemed faculty members:

• Naima Omar Al-Ghazir – President and Supervisor.

• Al-Hussein Salem Ghaith – Member and Internal Examiner. (Participating remotely).

• Anad Fawaz Al-Kubaisi – a member and external examiner.

• Khalifa Saleh Kwas – a member and external examiner.

• Fawzi Al-Mukhtar Muhammad – Member and External Examiner.

The discussion featured a rigorous scientific dialogue that addressed various aspects of the thesis, where the committee praised the research effort made and the scientific value of the results and recommendations reached by the study, contributing to the enrichment of the field of strategic studies and international relations.

At the conclusion of the discussion, the committee decided to approve the thesis and grant the researcher a doctoral degree, with heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to him, wishing him continued success and achievement in his academic and professional journey.
